Hi,
It's November 2nd and oh, what a weekend and oh, what a start to the Season. Halloween is a fun time on Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. On Friday and Saturday there were at least 6 Halloween related fund raisers and parties. Among them were the Island Paws "Howl-O-Ween Party with their pet costume contest and Yappy Hour, The Trunk or Treat at the Sanibel Community Church, The Fall Family Carnival at The Community House and, of course, the Voodoo Island Party at 'Tween Waters Inn - just to name a few.
It is a great time as many of our seasonal residents return to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island so getting back together with friends is what we do. From now through Easter the Islands will be hopping with many fund raisers for groups like CROW, SCCF, FISH, START, and PURRE. Coming up we have the Cracker Festival for START - Solutions to Avoid Red Tide - November 6th and the Wines in the Wild to benefit SCCF - Sanibel - Captiva Conservation Foundation on November 14th just to name two.
This weekend also marked the start of the Sanibel Farmers Market held each Sunday from 8am - 1pm at Tahitian Gardens Plaza on Sanibel. We went yesterday and it was fantastic! The fresh produce, bread, cheese and fish were first rate as were the plants and other goodies! Fun Fun Fun!
As you make your plans to come back to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island, be sure to check out what is going on on the islands when you visit! Drop me an email if you want any suggestions!
